Tips on making the best Herb Collection

Herb Collection FAQ

Are they gluten-free and natural?

Yes, all our spice blends are gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, and additive-free. Sugar and spice, nothing else.

How do I use these herb blends?

Start with 1-2 teaspoons per pound of protein or per recipe serving 4. Add to marinades, rubs, finishing oils, or sprinkle directly while cooking. Taste and adjust - our herb & spice blends are small batch and freshly mixed which means if you use them soon after buying you will likely notice they are stronger and more aromatic than grocery store blends. So a little goes a long way.

Which blends are 100% herbs vs. herb-spice combinations?

Herbes de Provence is 100% herbs—no salt, no garlic, no spices. Preston Italian is salt-free and includes garlic. Our other blends (Danforth Greek, Dirty Dill, Pizza Sauce, Porchetta, Sunday Fundy Stuffing, and Lakeview Garlic Lovers) include salt and a variety of spices, seasonings, garlic, or citrus zest depending on the blend. Check each product page for full ingredient lists.

All our blends are available salt-free and sugar-free, just pick that when ordering online. If it's not offered as an option, that means it's already salt-free and/or sugar-free

Which blends are salt-free?

Herbes de Provence and Preston Italian are both salt-free and sugar-free. All our other herb blends can be ordered salt-free and/or sugar-free when you shop online—just select that option at checkout. If you don't see the option, the blend is already salt-free and/or sugar-free.

Can I use these blends in place of fresh herbs?

Yes! Use about 1 teaspoon of dried herbs for every tablespoon of fresh. (This works for all dried herbs.)
Keep in mind ours are blends, so they won't be exact 1:1 replacements for individual herbs—but they might be an even better option!
