Montreal Steak Spice FAQ
Is it gluten-free and allergy-friendly?
Yes. All of our products are vegan and gluten-free. They are also all nut-free, dairy-free, and preservative-free.
Note: if your allergies are severe, we do work out of a shared kitchen, with dedicated equipment.
What is Montreal Steak Spice made of?
Montreal Steak Spice is a bold Canadian classic: coarse kosher salt, black pepper, garlic, onion, coriander seeds, mustard seeds. Freshly ground right before we package it. No fillers—just punchy, grill-ready flavour that elevates your steaks! (And any Canadian Beef)
What do you use Montreal Steak Spice on?
Steaks (ribeye, striploin), burgers, ribs, chicken, salmon, potatoes, even roasted mushrooms. Dry rub before grilling or sprinkle as a finishing seasoning- works hot or cold. Some of our customers use it on their popcorn too.
How much Montreal Steak Spice per steak?
1-2 tsp per 8-12 oz cut. Pat meat dry, rub generously with Montreal Steak Spice. Grill to perfection—expect jaw-dropping crust and juice-locking depth.
Want an even sexier steak? Airdry it in the fridge overnight for amazing crust & grill marks.
Does Montreal Steak Spice work on more than just steak?
Absolutely—it's a grilling MVP for burgers, ribs, chicken wings, salmon, pork chops, roasted potatoes, and even grilled corn. Dry rub or finishing sprinkle unlocks savory depth everywhere.
How long does Montreal Steak Spice stay fresh?
We fresh grind before we bag it, so it is at maximum aromatics immediately when you buy it, and that will slowly deteriorate over time. That side, if you store it sealed in it's bag in a cool, dark spot, you will continue to get excellent flavour and aroma for 12-18 months. (And honestly, it's still great 2 years in... just not as great)
How should I store it?
Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place away from moisture and heat. That helps preserve both the flavours and aroma.
GlowUp Sponsorship Thank You
If you spot this image on the back of your bag, you’re seeing part of our packaging GlowUp.
This blend was sponsored Cathy &/ Steve (I'm guessing Steve - shhh). Their sponsorship provided custom packaging design, helped upgrade our branding and covered the printing of the first 500 regular-sized bags for Montreal Steak Spice.
We’re grateful for their support, and for all of our GlowUp sponsors, for backing us as we grow and being part of our story.
